Registration Information

Voters who have moved within Wisconsin less than 28 days before the election must vote from their previous address either by absentee ballot or at the polling location. Voters who have moved to Wisconsin from another state less than 28 days before an election are only eligible to vote in Presidential elections.

The quickest and easiest way to register to vote is online. The deadline to register by mail or online to vote is 21 days before the election. Registration is not available on the Saturday, Sunday, or Monday before an election. After this date, electors must register in person in the clerk’s office or at the polling location on election day.

You may register to vote in person at the Westport Kennedy Administration Building at 5387 Mary Lake Road, Waunakee, WI 53597.  You are required to provide your driver's license number on the registration form. In addition, please make sure to bring along acceptable proof of residence.

The State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation will issue free state-issued identification cards to any eligible voter that makes the request for the free ID 'for purposes of voting'. If you are a regular voter that does not have a valid driver's license or current state-issued identification, you may want to take the opportunity to receive that free identification card soon to avoid the rush at election time. You cannot have a current driver's license and receive a free state ID. For more information visit these sites:
